Orleānas hercogs Filips I (franču: Philippe de France, duc d’Orléans); dzimis 1640. gada 21. septembrī, miris 1701. gada 9. jūnijā) bija Francijas valsts darbinieks, karaļa Luija XIII un Austrijas Annas jaunākais dēls. Francijas karaļa Luija XIV (t.s. Karaļa-Saules) jaunākais brālis. Brāļa valdīšanas laikā pazīstams kā Mesjē (franču: Monsieur). Burbonu dinastijas Orleānas atzara pamatlicējs.

Būdams pēc dabas sievišķīgs un atklāti homoseksuāls, dinastijas interesēs divreiz apprecējās un radīja vairākus bērnus, kuri savukārt saradojās ar daudzām Eiropas valdnieku dinastijām. Vairākkārt komandēja Francijas karaspēku militārās kampaņās, pazīstamākā Filipa I kauja ir uzvara 1677. gada Kesaelas kaujā, Franču-nīderlandiešu kara laikā.

Henrietta of England (Henrietta Anne Stuart; 16 June 1644 O.S. [26 June 1644 N.S.] – 30 June 1670) was the youngest child of King Charles I of England and his wife, Henrietta Maria of France. She was Duchess of Orléans through her marriage to Philippe I, Duke of Orléans.

Fleeing England with her mother as an infant in the midst of the English Civil War, Henrietta moved to the court of her first cousin King Louis XIV of France, where she was known as Minette. She married her cousin Philippe I, Duke of Orléans and became a fille de France, but their relationship was marked by frequent tensions over common suitors.

Henrietta played an instrumental role in negotiating the Secret Treaty of Dover between France and England against the Dutch Republic in June 1670, the same month as her unexpected death at the age of 26. Madame Elizabeth Charlotte, Duchess of Orléans (born Princess Elizabeth Charlotte of the Palatinate, German: Elisabeth Charlotte; 27 May 1652 – 8 December 1722), also known as Liselotte von der Pfalz, was a German member of the House of Wittelsbach who married into the French royal family. She was the second wife of Monsieur Philippe I, Duke of Orléans (younger brother of Louis XIV of France). By Philippe, Liselotte was the mother of Philippe II, Duke of Orléans, and Élisabeth Charlotte, Duchess of Lorraine. Philippe II was France's ruler during the Regency. Liselotte gained literary and historical importance primarily through preservation of her correspondence, which is of great cultural and historical value due to her sometimes very blunt descriptions of French court life and is today one of the best-known German-language texts of the Baroque period.

Liselotte not only became the ancestress of the House of Orléans, which came to the French throne with Louis Philippe I, the so-called "Citizen King" from 1830 to 1848, but also became the ancestress of numerous European royal families, so she was also called the "Grandmother of Europe". Through her daughter she was the grandmother of Francis I, Holy Roman Emperor, the husband of Maria Theresa, and great-grandmother of Joseph II and Leopold II (both Holy Roman Emperors) and Marie Antoinette, the last Queen of France before the French Revolution.
